Before we start this course, we will first look at what will be covered during the training. The course is dived into categories and in each category there are a number of videos. You can pause and watch again any video on the course. We update our courses regularly and you will be able to see the replacement and new videos as they are released.

You work through the course videos in order and to give you an idea of what the course will cover, the categories and videos on this course are:

Firstly, what a risk assessment is and why do we need it, how and why risk assessments reduce accidents.

We will also talk about what a hazard is, what causes accidents, lone worker emergency plans and risk assessments. This course will also cover the 5 stages of a risk assessment, ensuring the risk assessment is completed to the highest standard.

Manual handing risk assessment is a category within this course. It includes assessing high and low risks, assessing the individual move, assessing and controlling risks using the ‘TILE’ method. The ‘TILE’ method is also explained in more detail.

The final category covers; personal protective equipment, COSHH control measures, ensuring risks stay controlled and emergency procedures these are to ensure all possible risks are reduced.
